Christ the King Sixth Form Student achieves 1st place!
Gabrielle Bradley accepting her first place certificate from the Liverpool Archdiocese Secondary Schools’ Partnership director, Paul Greenall.
A Level Film Studies student, Gabrielle Bradley placed first in the ‘Spirituality within our School’ Student Photographic Competition. The presentation event at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Tuesday 7th June was celebrated by students and organisers alike. Attending the presentation of certificates and prizes with Gabrielle was headmaster, Mr Lancaster and her teacher, Mr Kkounnous.
The competition was run by the Liverpool Archdiocesan Centre for Evangelisation (LACE) whereby schools and colleges from the Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Lancashire, Wigan, Warrington and Halton areas took part, with separate categories for lower school and upper school students.
From the LASSP website, ‘the theme for this project is ‘Spirituality within our School’ with an optional focus upon the Year of Mercy. Each photograph is accompanied by a piece of descriptive text that gives additional meaning to the photographs on show.’
At the event, Gabrielle was clearly delighted and spoke of her experience as one she thoroughly enjoyed. Of her piece, Gabrielle utilised skills acquired from her studies in Film to carefully consider the compositional elements of each photograph from throughout the year where she then created the montage using photographic editing software.
