MFL - AVILA, SPAIN TRIP

On the 22nd of June, 26 students, along Miss Stock, Miss McKean and Mr Weaver went to Avila, Spain, for 5 days.

Students stayed with Spanish host families during their time in Avila and also attended language lessons from 9 am-2 pm on two of the days! The students thoroughly enjoyed these lessons and loved the opportunity of being taught by native speakers.

During the trip, the group visited many places of interest with their tour guide and owner of the language school in Avila, Adolfo. On the first day they explored Avila and walked along the historic walls that surround the city. Students also went for a chocolate and ‘chrurros’ tasting session, which went down a treat!

On the second day, they had the opportunity to visit Segovia and explore this ancient city and its aqueduct.

The third day was spent in Toledo, a beautiful historic city dating back to the Roman era. Here students had free time to explore the city, taking in the sites and doing some shopping of course!

The last day was spent in Madrid. The weather was scorching and students visited the centre of the capital, Sol and Gran Vía, El Mercado San Miguel, where they got to try some local Spanish delicacies, La Plaza Mayor, Retiro Park and finally a tour of Real Madrid's football stadium, Santiago Bernabéu.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip that all students thoroughly enjoyed and they were all perfect ambassadors for Christ the King.'
