Media is a central part to all of our lives. From newspapers and magazines to the cinema and television, we come into contact with some form of the media every single day. The study into this subject is constantly evolving and this makes for an incredibly interesting opportunity for students.

 

Media is an exciting and diverse subject at both GCSE and A-level. It is a subject that offers a range of different skills and opportunities to students. The practical element allows for creativity, independence and technical skills to be developed. Whereas the written elements within Media allow students to develop their analytical, evalulative and literacy skills.

In later life students can take up careers in journalism, publishing, teaching and public relations. However the skills developed within the subject offer so much more and can be applied to many other subjects and career paths.
