Year 11 BTEC Sport Sports Leaders Afternoon

As part of their studies for their BTEC Sport qualification, our Year 11s recently planned and delivered a series of very successful sports sessions to younger pupils. Assignment 2 of Unit 6 requires all of our Year 11 BTEC Sport candidates to plan the session, conduct a risk assessment of equipment and the facility they intend to use, write letters to local primary schools and then deliver their session in the role of a professional sports leader. Mr Lancaster and I agreed that all of our BTEC pupils exceeded our expectations and allowed the younger children to really enjoy the experience, led by such capable leaders.

Hopefully, it will give you the push to get out there and volunteer as a sports coach both here in school in the extra-curricular clubs offered by the CTK PE Dept at lunch/after school and/or in your local community. Well done to all of our Year 11 BTEC Sport Students.
