


Key Stage 4
Key stage 4 Core Physical Educations aims to follow on from and the develop the learning that has taken place at Key Stage 3. The emphasis at Key stage 3 is on participation, consolidating existing skills and developing new skills
At Key Stage 4 students will be given the opportunity to participate in at least two of the following area’s

• Outwitting opponents, as in games activities
• Accurate replication of actions, phrases and sequences, as in gymnastic activities
• Exploring and communicating ideas, concepts and emotions, as in dance activities
• Performing at maximum levels in relation to speed, height, distance, strength or accuracy, as in athletic activities
• Exercising safely and effectively to improve health and wellbeing, as in fitness and health activities.

How will I be formally assessed?
Students will be assessed at the end of each activity and given a grade A* - E on performance. This will go towards their End of Year 10 grade. These grades will be reported to parents throughout the year by way of the schools reporting policy.
