A-Level Physical Education is a challenging course in both its practical and academic content. For the conscientious and committed student this is a thoroughly enjoyable area of study.

 

What will I study?

 

 Unit G451: An introduction to Physical Education

 60% of the total AS GCE marks

 2h written paper

 90 marks

 Externally set and assessed.

 

 Unit G452: Acquiring, developing and evaluating practical skills in Physical Education

 40% of the total AS GCE marks

 Practical - 2 sports

 80 marks

 Externally set, internally assessed and externally moderated.

 

 AS Unit G451 being 30% of the total Advanced GCE marks and Unit G452 being 20% of the Advanced GCE marks.

 

 A Level Unit G453: Principles and concepts across different areas of Physical Education

 35% of the total Advanced GCE marks

 2.5h written paper

 105 marks

 Externally set and assessed.

 

 A Level Unit G454: The improvement of effective performance and the critical evaluation of practical activities in Physical Education

 15% of the total Advanced GCE marks

 Practical 60 marks

 Externally set, internally assessed and externally moderated.
