Geography

Geography is an exciting and dynamic subject which addresses key ideas and debates in our world today. Whilst studying Geography you will develop fieldwork and research skills and gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of places and environments and the processes which bring about change.



History

Pupils will study two externally assessed examination modules covering historical themes in Breadth and in Depth.



Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary

Travel & Tourism is studied at Level 3 and the course leads to vocational qualifications. Although the units concentrate on the industry of Travel & Tourism, there are a large number of vocational skills developed which could be used in a broad range of contexts.



Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Diploma

Travel & Tourism is studied at Level 3 and the course leads to vocational qualifications. Although the units concentrate on the industry of Travel & Tourism, there are a large number of vocational skills developed which could be used in a broad range of contexts.



Law

You will study two units in the first year of the course covering a variety of legal topics. The first is concerned with how laws are made and the legal system and covers issues such as statutory interpretation, judicial precedent, the role of the courts, judges, the legal profession and juries. Unit 2 is based on the concept of liability with particular reference to criminal liability and includes, studying crimes such as actual and grievous bodily harm. Students will also study the Tort of Negligence, looking at negligence, duty of care and damages.



Government & Politics

Government and Politics is the study of the means by which we govern ourselves and how the institutions of our democracy function. The course is designed to encourage interest and enthusiasm into political beliefs central to an understanding of the modern world. This course will provide a structured foundation of political knowledge with an emphasis on contemporary politics and an opportunity to eventually specialise in one chosen area.
