Business

Business has three offerings to prospective Sixth Form students:



Business Advanced Level

The Business A Level is a two-year course aimed at providing learners with a high level of understanding of many areas of business. The units covered are designed to provide students with core knowledge, understanding and skills about the following. All the modules covered will examine the main functions of business from marketing, human resources and finance to motivation, production and economic influences.



Business BTEC Level 3 Diploma

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma is a two-year course aimed at providing learners with a high level of understanding of many areas of business. The units studied will focus on many aspects and functions of business and those completing the course will have a high level of knowledge about how businesses work. As a vocational course, the BTEC Diploma will also develop many skills, including time management, independent working and organisational skills.



Business BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma

The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma is a two-year course aimed at providing learners with a high level of understanding of many areas of business. The units studied will focus on many aspects and functions of business and those completing the course will have a high level of knowledge about how businesses work. As a vocational course, the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma will also develop many skills, including time management, independent working and organisational skills.



Economics (New for 2014/15)
The Economics A-Level is a two-year course aimed at providing learners with a high level of understanding of many areas of the economy.  The units covered are designed to provide students with core knowledge, understanding and skills.  The Advanced GCE is made up of two mandatory units to be studied at AS level and two further units to be at A2.  The exam board we will be using is Edexcel. The aim of the GCE Economics Course is to develop an interest in and enthusiasm for the subject and to appreciate the contribution of economics to the understanding of the wider economic and social environment.
