


What will I study?

All students will study GCSE RE. Over the course of Year 10 & 11, they will study 2 Units – Unit 8 Religion & Society based on Christianity and Islam, and Unit 3 Religion & Life based on Catholic Christianity. Each Unit consists of 4 modules and these will be taught over the Key Stage. At the end of the course students will sit an exam for each Unit.

Unit 3 Modules – Believing in God, Matters of Life & Death, Marriage & the Family and Religion & Community Cohesion.

Unit 8 Modules – Rights & Responsibilities, Environment & Medical Issues, Peace & Conflict and Crime & Punishment

How will I be assessed?
At the beginning of each module there will be a Keywords & Definitions test and at the end of each module there will be an End of Module test, which will be a past exam paper question. There will also be a Mock Exam in Year 10 and in Year 11.
Homework will comprise of either a revision task or a past exam question to complete.

Career Opportunities
Students may choose to go on to study A-Levels.
RE is a useful subject for many of the caring professions such as nurse, social worker etc. It is also useful for any career that involves working with people such as teacher, police, shop worker etc
